The most important characteristic I wanted in my wedding dress was simplicity. I dreamed of a dress that, fifty years from now, I would not look at and cringe. The day I found my gown the sales person asked what I was looking for. I said, "no bows, no lace, no sequins, no scallops and no satin." That drastically narrowed my selection. While my mother and future mother-in-law waited, my sister helped me in the dressing room. When we came to 'my dress' I looked at it on the hanger and said, "I don't think I even want to try that one on". My sister insisted that I should and the moment she zipped it, we both knew. When I walked out, the mothers knew too! It was classic, elegant and timeless. It was then, and remains, a true reflection of myself. I have never felt more beautiful. |
