We visited ten salons in five cities. After looking at 250 dresses ranging from Canterbury Ghost style down to the Bride of Chuckie’s dress and trying on some of the least horrible of them, I was about to give up.

Regardless, we wanted to give it one more try, so, with a certain dress in mind, we set out once again. And there it was, coming down the stairs in the salon draped across a salesperson's arm. I had to have this one.

It fit perfectly: my ivory silk Spanish dress with just a hint of embroidery on the body, a perfect princess cut with a detachable train and a ball gown skirt with its own mini-train. It gave me the train-sweeping drama for church and the light feeling for hours of dancing. I felt like a princess that day in the most comfortable dress I own!
