The gown was handmade by my mother, who is a talented seamstress. Together, we designed the dress to best reflect what the "Moon Goddess" would be wearing in the starry sky.

We chose to use black velvet fabric, enhanced with streams of gold sequins, to make the outer skirt and the sides of the bodice because it resembled the starlit evening sky. To accent the moon, we used silver satin fabric covered with tiny pearls for the under skirt and also for the front of the bodice. A bum roll was made to wear around my hips, causing the skirt to fall away from my body.

To make the dress complete, we attached black feathered angel wings to the back of the dress bodice. I was ready to fly across the sky and meet my prince who waited for my arrival over the horizon.
